Dear Mr. Edward :
On November 24, 2010 I purchased a Sun screen protections from store. But my priority of sending you this letter is to recite you the problem that I have encountered while buying the product just because I’m an African-American.
At about noon, on November 24, 2010 I walked into your store with the aim of buying a sun screen protection to prevent me from receiving sun burn while driving. One of your young sales man walked up to me and asked “Sir, Is the sun screen protection product you are looking for?” , the looked on his face told me that he was very discriminating and was very amused that why would an African-American , to be precise a negro would need a sun screen protection because he is already black. However, I replied politely saying that “Son, just because I’m a negro does not mean that I do not care about what could happen to my skin”, the young man quickly apologized to me and I forgave him and went ahead and bought the product.
My desire would be that the young sales person should be taught a lesson about stereotyping as soon as possible so that he could avoid doing this to other customers who have different races and different features from him. Also I would like you to personally talk to him and explain to him that what he did was very wrong and his action could lead Wall-mart to lose its customers and reputations as well. If you require any additional information please do not hesitate to contact me at 08-59127125.
Thank you for your understanding and revising this matter
Sincerely ,
Karan
